Subject: zune cake

Today we (the Zune team) received a cake from a member of the Zune community – Stefan at I Want a Pink Zune dot com. Stefan ordered the cake from Mike’s amazing cakes:

The caption reads:

From all the Zune fans

and I want a PINK Zune dot com,

keep up the great work.

We are eagerly awaiting

the next Zune

If you want to have a look at it – it’s downstairs in the atrium – I’ll cut it up in about 5 minutes (first come first serve).

Thanks and go Zune –

Cesar

All I can say is wow. Here’s a picture of me holding the cake. I didn’t even know it was coming; but I did wear my IWAPZ.com shirt today. Fortuitous

After sending that email, the cake was gone in about 10 minutes.

Much love, IWAPZ, and much love, Mike’s Amazing Cakes.

Embarking on their first tour in five years, The Chemical Brothers are going on tour with Zune as the latest on the road artist. If you haven’t seen them live, here’s what to expect - from the Guardian UK’s review of their London show (at the roundhouse: “The theme is unremitting sensory overload, with gargantuan techno rhythms competing with lurid kaleidoscopic visuals.”

Check the dates -

Sept 21                New York, NY                   Hammerstein Ballroom

Sept 22               Brooklyn, NY                    McCarren Pool

Sept 24               Chicago, IL                         Riviera

Sept 26               Denver, CO                        The Fillmore

Sept 28               San Francisco, CA          The Concourse

Sept 29               Los Angeles, CA               Nocturnal

I think that we’re working on creating some cool visuals, so I’ll post them as I have them. And yes, I’m already trying to score free tix - if I have any leftovers, I’ll see about sharing them!

Toshiba announced a new mid-size flash player called the Gigabeat T401. But what’s interesting about this new MP3 flash based player? Well, its 2.4-inch tall LCD might be interesting, the 802.11g Wi-Fi feature is certainly a plus, but what is…

Aa’aand we’re back!

Today is my first day back at work - the wedding/honeymoon/opening presents was great. It’s good to be back, and stay tuned for the Zune news as I have it. Thanks to everybody for the kind words, too. You rock.

Have you recently bought a Zune for $109 (or even less) from Dell and you haven’t received it yet? Well, you should forget about it right now. Dell won’t send you the Zune because this is considered an “internal error”…
