Earlier this month, we posted about the viability of a Zune Phone, and if this is the right product at the right time. The consensus was that Microsoft should stick to making the 2nd gen Zune as strong as possible,…

Podcasters can now plan to display a Zune icon or chicklet graphic on their websites to enable an easy “1-Click Podcast Subscription” process for podcast listeners or viewers.  This 1-Click process will launch the new Zune Marketplace software and place the podcast subscription in the users collection.  The process will work best if the Zune user already has the new Zune Marketplace software loaded on a Windows PC, but if not already installed, will then ask user to download the software.  The podcast feed does not need to be in the Zune Marketplace for the link to work.

Here are the instructions for setting up Zune’s new “ 1-Click Podcast Subscription” link URL for your podcast:

*Create your unique link URL using this format:  zune://subscribe/?PodcastTitle=PodcastRSSFeedURL

     – Here is a working example: zune://subscribe/?wallstrip=http://feeds.feedburner.com/wallstrip

     – See PodcastTitle is wallstrip and PodcastFeedURL is http://feeds.feedburner.com/wallstrip

     – Spaces between words in the PodcastTitle will work fine.

     - Here is our official hyperlink image for use for Zune 1-click subscription process:  Click to ADD this feed to the Zune Marketplace

     – A few other chicklet image options exist here.

Thank you for the warm welcome in the comments after Cesar’s intro post a few days ago. Podcasting has been my passion for many years now and am very excited to be here on the Zune team.  We are building a great podcast service offering that should more than fill the needs of podcasters and Zune 4, 8, 30 and 80 users.

On Monday we had about 30 people come to Family, a bookstore in LA. Just like the community event in NYC, we had local Zune community folks and some local bloggers come and check out the new Zune lineup. A quick photo:

Thanks to everybody who came out and checked it out!

While waiting for the release of Zune 2, and it’s podcast enabled software, Perooz.com has relaunched it’s online “Mobile Magazine” site offering free web-based service that provides mainstream content such as videos, magazines, newspaper articles and much more for users…

We recently partnered with Reggaeton duo Wisin y Yandel, and as part of the partnership, we’ll be releasing a custom Zune 30 GB. The custom Zune 30 GB goes on sale October 29, and comes preloaded with the new album Wisin vs. Yandel Los Extraterrestres, plus exclusive music, videos, and live concert footage from their international tour.

They’re quite a group: they’ve sold over 3 million albums, and they’re the first Reggaeton artist to sell out Radio City Music Hall, New York City. Plus they’ve embraced technology in reaching out to their fans, and the timing works out well for their new album -  y a mí me encantan – saludos a los compañeros que leen este blog!

Stay tuned also for an Xbox Live Game with Fame with Wisin y Yandel.
