Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on its suite of Microsoft-hosted services known as the Business Productivity Online Suite (BPOS).

Microsoft Chief Research and Strategy Officer Craig Mundie’s current priority No. 1 is to help the Softies, customers and partners understand the changes necessary to program and use computing resources in the form of a composite platform — i.e., the cloud and the client as a single unit.

Microsoft isn’t sharing specifics, but according to new information on its Professional Developers Conference (PDC) blog, the company is definitely planning to distribute in late October a pre-beta build of Windows 7 to attendees.
