For those who may be finding the Engineering Windows 7 blog a little … theoretical … for their tastes, there’s a new Microsoft-backed Windows 7 blog that’s just started up.

Amazon has made a few tweaks and additions to its Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) infrastructure just days before Microsoft is expected to launch its head-to-head competitive service at its Professional Developers Conference (PDC).

As promised, today we've added two new cable networks to the Zune Video Marketplace.

First off, we'd like to welcome STARZ.  To start off, we've added the hilarious animated show Tripping the Rift, the Alexandra Wentworth comedy Head Case and the quirky puppet comedy Bronx Bunny.  Even more Starz shows will be coming…

Secondly, we'd like to welcome CMT (Country Music Television).  Today you'll be able to head on to their channel page and download the new show Hulk Hogan's Championship Wrestling, the (dare we say) engaging Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and the classic Trick My Truck.

As always, keep your eyes on this page for more updates in the near future.

It’s not Patch Tuesday today, but Microsoft is pushing out a Windows security patch, marked as “Critical,” on Thursday October 23.

This year, Zune is a title sponsor at CMJ – and for us, it's all about music discovery. So what does that mean? It means we're presenting music showcases with some top artists, working with some top music blogs to get awesome coverage, and putting together some amazing playlists that celebrate the best music to come out of CMJ.

Over its 20 year history, CMJ has been instrumental in launching the careers of bands like Arcade Fire, The Hold Steady, Mars Volta,  Modest Mouse, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, My Chemical Romance, Hot Ht Heat, Justice, MIA, Band of Horses, and many more. To celebrate CMJ's venerated history, the Zune team spent hours upon hours putting together a 100-track playlist: CMJ Rewind. And if you can't get enough of CMJ music, check out the CMJ Collection playlist: 250 tracks from bands playing this year.

Not to let the rest of the Zune org have all the fun, I made a playlist too! Check out Zuneinsider CMJ 08
